Parathas to varmala, flyers leave behind a slice of life at airports

Around 9,000 items have been left behind by forgetful passengers at Kolkata airport’s security hold area this year. The items include food, drinks, clothing, electronics, and personal belongings. Most items are lost at security counters, food and beverage outlets, retail stores, and lounges. Passengers tend to lose more items on weekends when there are more leisure travelers. The airport collects and categorizes the lost items for passengers to reclaim. Expensive items are not stolen due to extensive camera surveillance.
