Potato in space? Nasa’s photo of Phobos amazes internet

NASA’s latest post on social media involves Phobos, Mars’ irregularly shaped moon nicknamed the ‘space potato’. Measuring 27 by 22 by 18 kilometers, Phobos lacks sufficient gravity to form a sphere, resulting in its lumpy appearance. NASA shared images captured by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, revealing Phobos’ cratered surface and its projected collision course with Mars in about 50 million years or potential disintegration into a ring.
