Prisoner serving life for murder who escaped in North Carolina has been caught, authorities say

A life-sentenced prisoner who escaped during a hospital visit in North Carolina was recaptured at a Kannapolis hotel. Ramone Alston, guilty of a 2015 murder, had fled handcuffed into woods. He was arrested without any violence. Police also detained an acquaintance for aiding his escape. Alston will face an additional felony escape charge.
