Probing claim app promoters paid Chhattisgarh CM Rs 508cr: ED

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has alleged that accomplices of the fugitive promoters of the Mahadev Online Book Betting app paid Rs 508 crore to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Asim Das, a courier allegedly engaged by the app’s promoters, was arrested with Rs 5.4 crore and claimed the money was meant for Baghel. Baghel has dismissed the allegations as a joke and accused the ED of tarnishing his reputation. The ED has said that the allegations will be investigated further. The charges come at a time when the BJP has made corruption a central theme against the Baghel government.
