‘Public money worth Rs 5,716cr part of Jet crime proceeds’
Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal, his wife Anita Goyal, and four companies have been charged with obtaining public money worth Rs. 5,716 crore through criminal activity, according to a special PMLA court in Mumbai. The chargesheet alleges that the funds were diverted through inflated sales commissions, payouts to professionals, loans to subsidiary JetLite, and writing off loans in balance sheets. Goyal was arrested in September and is currently in judicial custody. The court has issued summons to Anita Goyal and the four companies. The chargesheet is connected to a Rs. 539 crore Canara Bank loan.
