Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani has decided not to increase his bid to acquire Manchester United for more than 6 billion dollar, leaving Jim Ratcliffe, Chairman of Ineos, as the stronger contender. Ratcliffe has offered to purchase a 25% stake in the club, while the value of his bid remains unknown. Jassim, who initially planned to invest $1.7 billion in the club, has withdrawn from the bidding process after unsuccessful negotiations.
