Real not sci-fi: Driverless cabs to take over Tokyo streets by early 2026

Once the Cruise driverless cabs go live in Tokyo, a user can hail one by using the smartphone application and even make payments on the same. The mobile application uses the phone’s GPS location to pin point the customer’s exact location and drop-off location. Once the cab arrives, passengers just need to sit at the back and the rest is taken care of by the autonomous vehicle itself.
