Rs 10 crore marked for makeover of Model Town’s Naini Lake

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is set to revamp Naini Lake in Model Town with a budget of Rs 10 crore. The project, which includes beautification, horticulture, and installation of musical fountains and lighting, will also involve desilting the lake bed and bringing treated water from a sewage treatment plant to the lake. The MCD plans to enhance the green cover with 7,000 new plants and is part of a larger initiative to rejuvenate and develop 38 water bodies in Delhi. Work is already underway in some locations.
