Sedition charge against Raut for anti-PM article

The Umarkhed police Monday night registered an FIR under IPC sections 124A (sedition), 153A (promoting enmity), and 505(2) (creating hatred or ill will) against Shiv Sena (UBT) functionary Sanjay Raut for an objectionable article against PM Modi printed in a column in Saamna newspaper on December 10. The complaint was lodged by former Yavatmal zilla parishad president and coordinator of BJP Nitin Bhutada, who said Raut had no reason to attack PM Modi, and that BJP activists across the country will not tolerate such uncalled for remarks.
