South Mumbai jeweller, ‘kingpin of gold smuggling’, held before flying to Dubai

Dashrat Chabinath Soni, a Mumbai jeweller and gold smuggling kingpin, was arrested on a DRI lookout circular while attempting to fly to Dubai. Soni’s arrest follows the capture of intermediaries, who were caught smuggling 3.8kg of gold worth Rs 2.6 crore into India from Myanmar.
