State BJP leans heavy on ‘game-changer’ OBC plank

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has announced that if the BJP wins the upcoming assembly election in Telangana, a leader from the Backward Class community will be made chief minister. Shah accused the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party of neglecting the welfare of backward classes and making false promises. The BJP is targeting the Other Backward Classes (OBC) for support in the election and has named BC leaders in 19 of the 52 seats announced so far. Shah’s announcement is expected to be a significant factor in the election.
