Stock market: Sensex dips by 269 points, Nifty below 23,500

The BSE Sensex ended the trading session with a downward trend, shedding 269.03 points to close at 77,209.90. Similarly, NSE Nifty 50 followed suit, shedding by 65.90 points, settling at 23,501.10. The Nifty Midcap 100 index also faced a slight decline, closing 99 points or 0.18% lower at 55,375.30.
