Stock market today: Sensex climbs over 250 points to 83,140.76; Nifty up 74 points to 25,430.60 in early trade

Stock markets edged up slightly on Monday as investors awaited the Fed rate cut announcement later this week. The Nifty 50 index started at 25,406.65 points with a gain of 0.2 per cent, while the BSE Sensex rose by 0.11 per cent to reach 82,985.33 points.
