Supreme Court pulls up Punjab & Haryana HC for sacking judicial officer over ‘affair’

The Punjab & Haryana High Court ruled for protection of life and liberty of two judicial officers in an extra-marital relationship but dismissed them administratively. The Supreme Court reinstated the woman officer and reconsidered the male officer’s case, ultimately upholding his termination. He is entitled to back wages from April 20, 2022, until a fresh termination order on April 2, 2024.
