Suspected militants fire at village in Manipur’s Jiribam district

Suspected militants attacked Mongbung Meitei village in Manipur’s Jiribam district, firing indiscriminately from nearby hilltops and forests. Village volunteers retaliated while evacuations of women, children, and elderly took place. Security forces were deployed to control the situation with no casualties reported so far. The village has endured multiple attacks since June.
