Swapna Barman will have to explain her behaviour: AFI

Heptathlete Swapna Barman accused a fellow Indian athlete of being a transgender woman and claimed that she lost her chance to win a bronze medal at the Asian Games because of it. However, Barman later deleted her tweet. The Athletics Federation of India called her allegation baseless and said it was not good for the country’s image. The athlete who won the bronze, Nandini Agasara, questioned the timing of the controversy and thanked the government and her federation for their support.
