Targeted killing of Hindu neta not terrorist act: Madras HC

Madras high court debates whether target-killing of Hindu religious leaders can be considered a terrorist act as defined under section 15 of the UAPA. The court grants bail to a man arrested under the UAPA, stating that the evidence does not establish the intent to threaten the unity, integrity, security, economic security or sovereignty of India, or to strike terror in the people. The accused allegedly wanted to join IS and plotted to kill Hindu religious leaders belonging to BJP and RSS. The court disagrees with the prosecution’s claims and grants conditional bail to the accused.
