Taylor Fritz loses on day of shocks at Japan Open

Taylor Fritz exited the Japan Open in the first round alongside Frances Tiafoe, Casper Ruud, and Stefanos Tsitsipas. Fritz lost to Arthur Fils; Tiafoe fell to Brandon Nakashima. Defending champion Ben Shelton moved forward along with Jack Draper and Tommy Paul. Kei Nishikori also won his match against Marin Cilic.
