Thailand reports Asia’s first case of new Mpox strain

Thailand has identified its first case of the Mpox Clade 1b variant, found in a 66-year-old European man who travelled from Africa. This is the second instance of the strain detected outside Africa and the first in Asia. No local transmissions have been reported. Sweden previously recorded a case related to the African outbreak.
