Thirty-nine untapped drains a big challenge ahead of 2025 Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, NMCG steps in to fix the gap

As Prayagraj prepared for Maha Kumbh 2025, 39 untapped drains remained a challenge. The National Mission for Clean Ganga sanctioned three new sewage treatment plants at a cost of Rs 987 crore. These efforts aimed to boost the city’s sewage treatment capacity and ensure a cleaner environment for the event scheduled from Jan 14 to Feb 26.
