Two held at Prayagraj railway station for smuggling turtles

Two men from Amethi were arrested at Prayagraj Junction railway station for smuggling 10 Indian softshell turtles, a species protected under the Wildlife Protection Act. Railway police intercepted them and handed them over to Forest Officers. The suspects revealed they were promised Rs 1,500 each for delivering the turtles to Bhagalpur in Bihar.
