He emphasised the importance of personal relationships in diplomacy. At the UN General Assembly, Starmer advocated for a more humble UK approach to international relations and urged restraint in global conflicts. He also called for permanent African representation on the UN Security Council and highlighted the catastrophic impact of ongoing global conflicts.
