‘UK navy ends custom of employing Chinese on British warships over spy fears’

The UK navy has stopped hiring Chinese laundry workers on warships due to concerns over potential espionage activities by Beijing, according to sources. The navy will now employ Nepalese Gurkhas instead. The move comes amid growing apprehensions that China could coerce Chinese workers by threatening their families to extract naval secrets. MI5 has also warned about China’s attempts to infiltrate and extract nuclear technology secrets from the UK, with suspected Chinese agents reaching out to over 20,000 individuals in the country.
