Anura Kumara Dissanayake of Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna and National People’s Power coalition has been sworn in as Sri Lanka’s president after winning decisively in the presidential elections. This marks a departure from the traditional political elite blamed for the economic crisis. Outgoing President Ranil Wickremesinghe finished third.
