Union workers arrested on Las Vegas Strip for blocking traffic as thousands rally

Thousands of hotel workers in Las Vegas rallied on the Strip to draw attention to their union contract negotiations with major casino companies. Dozens of workers sat in the street, halting traffic, before being arrested by police. The Culinary Workers Union organized the protest as a show of force ahead of a potential strike. The union represents about 60,000 members and has been negotiating for months over issues such as pay and working conditions. A strike deadline has not been set yet, but negotiations are ongoing.
