US woman moves to Italy because America ‘was too expensive’

A US woman decided to retire and move to Italy due to the high cost of living in America. Barbara Barto, 62, made the decision after losing her job, going through a divorce, and losing her mother. She attended webinars on buying property in Italy and found that it would be more affordable than living in the US. Barto purchased a house in the region of Abruzzo and started her new life in Italy in October 2022.
