Vachana sahitya gets global push with translations in international languages

Bengaluru’s Basava Samithi collaborated with universities to translate 2,500 vachanas into six international languages by Jan 2025. Initiated by MM Kalburgi, the project includes translations into Spanish, German, Japanese, Chinese, French, and Nepali. This effort has previously translated vachanas into 26 national and two international languages, enhancing global recognition of Kannada literature.
