Village defence guards open fire on spotting suspicious movement in Rajouri

Defence Guards in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district fired upon spotting suspicious movement near a house. Security forces initiated a search operation, extended to nearby villages, and remain on high alert ahead of upcoming assembly elections. Originally known as Village Defence Committees, Village Defence Guards were formed to counter terror attacks, receiving monthly remuneration since 2022.
