A Saurya Airlines aircraft crashed during takeoff at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, killing 18 of the 19 on board. Captain Manish Ratna Shakya, the sole survivor, was rescued from the cockpit after it detached from the burning plane. Despite severe injuries, Shakya is currently in the hospital and expected to make a full recovery.
