Why consumer commission asked SBI to pay Rs 97 lakh as compensation

A retired couple in Hyderabad lost over Rs 60 lakh due to a bank fraud by their driver. He switched their SBI account from ‘view-only’ to ‘transaction facility’ and transferred the money. After a prolonged legal battle, the NCDRC ruled in favor of the couple, ordering SBI to reimburse them with interest and compensation.
