The government is committed to securing the purchase of arhar, urad, masur, and maize from farmers nationwide for a period of five years, ensuring they receive the minimum support price (MSP). This initiative encourages farmers to shift from paddy cultivation, promoting crops that require less water and safeguarding growers from any disadvantages. Notably, diversification won’t be mandated for cotton cultivation.
