Women to join Japan’s ‘naked man festival’ for first time

The Konomiya Shrine in Inazawa, Japan, known for its Naked Man Festival, will allow women participants for the first time in its history. The festival celebrates abundance, prosperity, and fertility. Around 40 local women will contribute by participating in the naoizasa ritual. Ayaka Suzuki, vice-chair of a women’s group, expressed her desire to participate.
