Women’s share at Jawaharlal Nehru University down, claims report
The percentage of women students at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in India has decreased from 51% in 2017-18 to 44% in 2021-22, according to a report by JNU Teachers’ Association. However, the report also noted that from 2013-14 to 2017-18, the percentage of women students had increased from 47% to 51%. The report also highlighted issues such as pending faculty promotions, academic calendar delays, and a decrease in the number of research students. The JNU administration did not respond to queries about the report.
