Rahul Gandhi urged the restoration of full statehood for Jammu and Kashmir, accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government of removing democratic rights. He pointed out that this is the first instance of a state being downgraded to a Union Territory. The reorganisation took place in 2019, and regional elections have not been conducted since then.
