Two million duplicate entries deleted from electoral rolls in 2 yrs

The electoral rolls in Tamil Nadu have been cleaned up in the last two years, with 2 million multiple entries and similar photo and demographic entries deleted using special software. The state election department has sent registered/speed posts to voters, giving them 15 days to respond to proposed deletions. If no response is received or if the person is not found at the given address, the deletion will be carried out. The department will conduct a special summary revision of electoral rolls between October 27 and December 9.
