BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj booked for ‘illegal construction’ in U’khand

BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj and four others have been booked for alleged illegal construction in Rishikesh. The construction sites were sealed by the Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority, but the accused allegedly continued construction. The sites were deemed illegal by the Uttarakhand high court, as they were meant for the rehabilitation of those displaced by the Tehri hydropower project. The police have yet to question the accused, but an investigation is ongoing. The complaint was filed by an MDDA assistant engineer.
