Eight districts on yellow alert today

The India meteorological department has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in several districts of the state of Kerala. Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are also expected. Gale winds reaching up to 120kmph are likely by Monday evening. A rough sea warning has been issued along the coast, and fishermen are advised to stay ashore. The depression in the Arabian Sea has intensified into a cyclonic storm and is expected to head towards the Yemen-Oman coast.
