EU leaders urge pauses in Gaza bombing to get aid in

EU leaders have called for pauses in Israeli bombing and Hamas rocket attacks in order to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza. The leaders expressed grave concern for the deteriorating humanitarian situation and called for continued, safe, and unhindered access to reach those in need. While EU leaders have condemned Hamas’ attack, they have struggled to present a unified message, with some emphasizing Israel’s right to self-defense and others expressing concern for Palestinian civilians.
