Israel-Hamas war: US sends 900 troops to Middle East to boost air defenses

The US is sending around 900 additional troops to the Middle East to strengthen air defenses and protect personnel amid escalating tensions over the Israel-Hamas war and increased attacks by Iran-linked groups. US forces have been targeted multiple times in Iraq and Syria, resulting in minor injuries. The military is implementing measures such as increased patrols, stricter access controls, and enhanced intelligence gathering. The deployment is also connected to plans to introduce a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system and Patriot missile batteries in the region.
