Govt suspends teachers’training midway amid row
The Bihar government has suspended a residential training programme for teachers in state-run schools due to protests from teachers who claimed it clashed with their Durga Puja holidays. The training was scheduled to run until October 21, but will now be rescheduled. Teachers held a daylong fast and issued an ultimatum for the government to suspend the training. The TET Primary Teachers’ Association welcomed the decision, hoping that the government will also address the status of contractual teachers.
