Record 1.68 lakh road accident deaths in 2022; 1 every 3 minute

India recorded the highest number of road crash fatalities in 2022, with over 1.68 lakh deaths, averaging 462 deaths per day or one every three minutes. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is yet to release the official data, but sources indicate a 9% increase compared to 2021 and an 11.5% increase from 2019.
