Russia opens fraud case against former deputy defence minister

Russia’s Investigative Committee opened a fraud case against ex-deputy defence minister Pavel Popov, accusing him of diverting building materials from Patriot Park for personal use. Several properties worth over 500 million roubles are under investigation. Popov joins other officials in a wave of corruption probes within the military, following key dismissals by President Putin.
