Xbox layoffs: Why Microsoft has told its gaming unit to cancel posting on social media

Microsoft is reducing its workforce by about 650 employees in the gaming division, following earlier job cuts and studio closures. Xbox head Phil Spencer stated these layoffs are connected to the Activision Blizzard acquisition and will not affect current games or devices. Microsoft has also paused Xbox’s social media activity to prevent backlash similar to a previous incident.
